Coach: Valley loss irrelevant, turn focus to Ames
9th Sep 2005, 12:14 GMT
Are Ankenys football players still having lingering thoughts about losing to Valley? Coach Jerry Pezzetti says the question is irrelevant. "There probably are, but there cant be. You have to play every week, and we have a schedule thats going to be very taxing on us," he said. The Hawks will not be able to lament tonight when they host Ames - a team coming off a 41-19 win against Roosevelt. The Little Cyclones rolled up 304 yards in the first half last week, with quarterback Austen Arnaud and running back Nathan Greving doing most of the gaining. Greving, a converted wide receiver, ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns, while Arnaud - a future Iowa State teammate of Ankeny lineman Matt Hulbert - ran for 88 and threw for 180.
