Metro Chief to Get a Towering Salary

Metro's next general manager is expected to earn $300,000 a year and receive a $60,000 living allowance, making him one of the region's highest-paid public officials. But John B. Catoe Jr. said yesterday that he plans to commute by subway when he takes over the transit agency in January.
