Sistore system tracks intruders
15th Nov 2006, 07:14 GMT
The Sistore video surveillance system by Siemens is capable of identifying unwelcome intruders and track them via cameras. This is made possible by a special algorithm that searches people for suspicious movements, and upon discovering a suspected intruder, the system will trigger an alarm located in the security control center. This takes the onus off security guards who are only human, as they cannot be at the peak of their observational powers all day long. Hopefully this advancement in technology will be able to help the authorities clamp down on troublemakers in public places. The Sistore system can be viewed from a PC monitor virtually anywhere in the world as it is connected via Internet. The Asian Games 2006 in Doha will use the Sistore system on a large scale this December.
