This procedure could cut treatment time down considerably, from 6 weeks to 5 days. An intensive study is being conducted in Canada to determine if the new procedure is as effective as treating the entire breast. Partial breast radiation attempts to treat the areas which house errant cancer cells. This could be a huge break-through in breast cancer treatment.
