VANCOUVER, BC (MARKET WIRE) Ascendant Copper Corporation (TSX: ACX) (BERLIN: A0HMLE) ("Ascendant" or the "Company") announced today that it has signed an agreement with an effective date of September 1, 2006 (the "Agreement") with Antofagasta PLC ("Antofagasta") for the exploration and advancement of the Company's Chaucha project, a copper-molybdenum property located in southern Ecuador (the "Project").
