Ward in four-way tie at Office Depot

Wendy Ward, Nicole Perrot of Chile and Karine Icher of France were tied for the early lead in Friday's opening round of the Office Depot Championship with 6-under 65s, one better than Natalie Gulbis and Gloria Park. Two-time defending champion Annika Sorenstam and rookie Paula Creamer teed off in the afternoon. Ward, who earned her third career victory at Las Vegas in April, helped the United States defeat Europe in the Solheim Cup 2 1/2 weeks ago.
