'Granny Flat' Tax Break to Be Studied

BARTOW - A tax break for people who add on to their homes to take care of aged relatives is headed to the County Commission for consideration. The so-called "granny flat" tax break reduces taxes for homes covered by homestead exemption if the owners remodel or expand the house to accommodate a parent or grandparent 62 or older.
