This professor turned a temporary relief mission into a life's work

It's been 21 years since Ahmad Halimeh helped found the Popular Association for Reconstruction and Development (PARD), an aid organization for displaced people headquartered at the Sabra refugee camp south of Beirut. Back then, Lebanon's Civil War was a decade old and the fighting in and among the camps was becoming increasingly deadly.
