Saudi minister denies giving interview that ruled out women drivers

Saudi Arabia denied on Thursday that its interior minister had made remarks which quashed hopes that Saudi women would be allowed to drive and detailed security plans along the border with Iraq. A terse statement by an Interior Ministry spokesman carried by the state SPA news agency did not refer explicitly to the substance of the remarks.
