Laser Rifle - Not What You Think, But Cool
31st Oct 2005, 17:51 GMT
The Air Force Research Labs have created a unique "laser gun" called the PHaSR—Personnel Halting and Stimulation Response—designed to dazzle crowds and individual enemies. Apparently, you shoot this at a target and the laser blinds them for a short period, which sounds kind of like a handheld Klieg light—effective, but not terribly cool. While I'd prefer it if you could shout "Cobra-la-la-la" and send out a blast of red energy with this thing, such wonders are not to be. LASER RIFLE DAZZLES? [DefenseTech]
