Stadium decision has city in a deadlock.

Auckland has just 11 days to decide the best location to host the Rugby World Cup final in less than five years time. The city's decision makers are deadlocked over whether to risk building a modern national stadium on the waterfront, or invest heavily in the reliable, but less versatile Eden Park. The Auckland Regional Council is working on its position, with a number of councillors unsure or against the waterfront proposal at this time. Prime Minister Helen Clark is confident the government will have the numbers to pass legislation needed to build the waterfront stadium. If Auckland opts for it, as the venue new laws will be needed to bypass resource consent and other issues.Source:One News
