Judge orders Rep. Smith to quit Legislature

A judge ruled Wednesday that Rep. David Burnell Smith is holding office illegally and must step down amid a campaign finance scandal. Smith, R-Carefree, filed an immediate request to stay the judge's order so he can continue to serve while he appeals. But if that stay is not granted, Smith will be out.
