iTunes Finally Credits for Already Purchased Songs
14th Nov 2006, 21:53 GMT
Even though I am not a fan of DRM (even though it can easily be removed *cough*) every now and again I have to purchase a song via iTunes. But here’s what really bothers me, I buy a song or two off of an album - then I decide to buy the whole thing. I quickly learned if you buy each remaining song on the album separately, it costs more than if you just buy the entire album all at once, and I hate wasting money - and I seem not to be the only person pissed at this policy. But rumors are swirling that Apple supposedly will credit iTunes users who purchase individual tracks before buying the entire album. For example, let’s say you bought a track from the new Yanni (God forbid!) album for $0.99 and the album is priced at $9.99. Then you have an attack of lunacy and decide to buy the whole album later, Apple would only charge you $9.00. If true this is a great idea for the customer, I can see why Apple wouldn’t want to implement this system but with Zune out it might be a necessary move to keep Microsoft at bay. [via]
