Symptoms can add up to ADD

DEAR HARRIETTE: Your suggestions are good as far as they go - but this man (Jose in Brooklyn) almost certainly has attention deficit disorder, and very possibly depression as well; he should see a psychiatrist or physician. How do I know? I've been through much of what he describes. Debt? I used to be a "binge" spender. This activity produces a temporary elation, which counters ADD and depression temporarily. I went bankrupt, and even now we struggle financially.
