IN those years gone by, admission into universities were quite tough. Anybody then desirous of gaining entrance into any university had to sit down and burn the midnight oil and, of course, supplement it with supplications to his God. As time went on many who had attempted JAMB twice, thrice or more and failed to gain admission into a university began to feel frustrated. Additionally, some graduates began to roam the streets in search of non-existent jobs. And before anybody knew it there was a meeting of the minds and exam malpractice at JAMB-conducted exams turned "scientific." The jobless graduates became temporarily employed. Many a student relaxed from his studies as he was sure that with the right sum of mercenary (a graduate or undergraduate) to sit for JAMB exam for him. Thus, as JAMB officials turned up with new techniques to thwart the plans of exam cheats so did the exam cheats device counter mechanisms to carry on with their pastime.
