Science for Security

Since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, national security has become a priority mission of the Department of Energy. The vigilance required to deter future attacks, including the development of an ever-increasing number of breakthrough technologies, is a core motivation for the National Security Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
