User: I can't hear my BlackBerry Pearl ring when it is in my pocket

Filed under: Stories, Tips, Pearl 8100 Howard Forums Member limborepublic feels, well, "in limbo" about the audio volume on his BlackBerry Pearl. Or lack of audio volume, it might be more correct to say. He writes that he loves the Pearl but he already has missed a number of calls because he can't hear the Pearl ring when it goes off while it is in his pocket. Now, I will cite some of my own experience in seconding a suggestion by fellow Howard Forums Member red.octane.aero (one of the coolest forums names I have come across in many a moon, IMHO. OK, have you ever used those electronic vibrators (don't go there) that go off in your pocket when your restaurant table is available? The vibration is unmistakable. And I know what I am talking about. My brother-in-law used to do quality control for one of the largest such companies. And he's a real quality-control type of guy (heck, he married my sister). So why not employ the same technology with your BlackBerry Pearl? "No one has been able to increase the (Pearl) volume table yet," red.octane.aero writes. "Why don't you try using the option vib & tone? That should work for you." Then jasonjoo joins the thread with another suggestion. He says he has manipulated some of his mp3's gain and set that as my ringer. "Not exactly the best quality, but I can hear it most of the time." But it definitely helps to adjust the gain on an mp3 and use that as your ringer. I picked a song with a loud, long intro, so the ringer just explodes when I get a call."
