Optimer Files for IPO to Fund Antibiotic Tests

By Penni Crabtree, The San Diego Union-Tribune Nov. 10--Optimer Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company that is taking aim at some troublesome bacteria, filed this week to raise up to $86.3 million in an initial public offering.
