Craze for trusts, not Flaherty, brought about this tale of woe

The income trust bitch-fest is in full force. The oil and gas trusts want an exemption from the trust tax. So does Telus, because its trust conversion plans were revealed before the Victorian ingenue Jim Flaherty stepped into the salacious trust orgy and declared himself appalled. CI Financial and many others want the trusts' four-year grace period doubled. Cannacord Capital hysterically warned that the newly broken oil and gas trusts will fall prey to American buyers: ''Hasty legislation is not the way to ''Stand up for Canada.' ''
