Dell delays Q3 report, faces SEC probe

Citing the "complexity" of a now formal Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into its past financial reports, Dell Inc. didn't turn in its third quarter financial results that are due today. The surprise announcement late Wednesday sent the Round Rock computer maker's stock into a controlled dive and raised more questions than it answered about just what might be wrong at Dell.
