Signs of hope even as Vodafone posts a big loss

Vodafone Group, the largest mobile phone company in the world by revenue, said Tuesday that one-time charges dragged it to a first-half net loss of £5.1 billion, but revenue and operating rose, leading some investors to say the company was on the right track.
