We’re expanding our editorial activities on paidContent.org . The site forms part of ContentNext Media, a rapidly growing news and information media company based in Santa Monica, CA, covering the business of digital media and content. Our three sites paidContent.org, MocoNews.net and ContentSutra.com cover the transformation of media, entertainment and information industries worldwide. Our sites are daily reads, with the high-end readership spread across the U.S., Europe and other parts of Asia. Our plans include increasing the number of original stories along with the scope of our brand of news aggregation and blogging. We are looking for two reporters, one East Coast (preferably NYC), one West Coast (Silicon Valley/SF or LA). The work: Our brand of journalism blends original reporting, intelligent linking/aggregation, and analysis, all quick, short, smart and sharp. In addition to paidContent.org, you may also be contributing to our other sites. The position includes working with our journalists and contributors worldwide. Experience/Requirements: – Location: East Coast or West Coast in U.S. – 2-7 years of business-technology news reporting experience, including online. – Someone who has written about media, Internet, mobile and technology, and has clips/blogs posts, etc to demonstrate it. Good interview skills are a plus as is the ability to recognize news and generate story ideas. – Someone comfortable with the fast pace of 24/7 news. – Flexible on working time zones…some work require interacting with journalists or covering news in other countries. – Basic working knowledge of HTML is required as well. Some experience with recording/uploading digital audio etc would be helpful. – If you have been a regular reader of paidContent.org and our other sites, all the better. – Be ready to some travel within U.S., and possibly Europe as well, to attend industry-related conferences. Compensation: This is a contract full time position, though we can consider part time as well. Salary will depend on experience, and will be competitive.
