Europeans rally to take early lead

Europe seized control on the first day of the Solheim Cup on Friday, rallying for a 5-3 lead after trailing in three alternate-shot matches in the morning. Four holes down with six to play, Annika Sorenstam led the charge by nearly making an ace on the 13th and teaming with Suzann Pettersen to win the next five holes for a 1-up victory
