Now only Supreme Court in China can approve death penalty

A significant legal amendment in China as legislation now states that all death penalty cases have to be approved by the Supreme People's Court (SPC) only. Over the two previous decades, regional courts were given the authority to impose capital punishment, which has now been found to have been a grossly abused power.
