EBay paying up to $4 bln for Web phone firm Skype

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 12 - EBay has agreed to buy fast-growing Internet start-up Skype for up to $4.1 billion (2.25 billion pounds) in cash and shares, in a move to tap new sources of growth and add free Web telephone calls to its online auctions.
