Silicon-on-insulator technology optimizes in-vehicle networking

Development of ICs that can maintain integrity under the electrically noisy and hot world under a car hood is prompting automotive electronics suppliers to turn to silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. SOI adds a layer of insulation to the substrate under the top silicon in which the transistors are built.
