BP settles Texas refinery blast case for $1.2 billion

Oil major BP Plc. has settled a lawsuit relating to the death of 15 people in a refinery explosion in Texas City in 2005. The settlement comes as a woman, Eva Rowe, 22, of Hornbeck, Louisiana, whose parents died in the fire caused by the explosion, and who has initiated legal proceedings against the company, agreed to settle.
