'Mini ecosystem' of fungi on pillows: study

If you refuse to venture into certain filthy neighborhoods because you don't want to aggravate your asthma, chew on this one. A study, by University of Manchester researchers, has found that your pillow could be housing a 'mini ecosystem', including fungi that can bring about an asthma attack. Around 50 different types of fungi have been found in an analysis of five feather and five synthetic pillows that have been in use between one and half year to 20 years.
