Comparing Feedster and Google on Splogs

Google recently published a list of the feeds they turned off from the recent splog incident. I thought it would be interesting to look at how many of the 13,154 feeds they identified that we found independently. When we compared the feeds we had turned off with this list, there was a difference of only 345 or a difference of only 2.6%. Now the interesting thing is that Google didn't shut down as spam all of the splogs that Feedster identified during that same incident. For example, thenew070.blogspot.com (link deliberately omitted) is still running -- we shut that down on Sunday. As we did with literally thousands of other spam feeds (from both blogspot and non blogspot sites) -- on Sunday alone we turned off 57,222 spam feeds. Note -- I'm not criticizing Google in this post. I simply thought that this was an interesting example from the fronts of the splog war.
