PS3 Blu-ray Impressions: Nice, But Uh?
14th Nov 2006, 20:11 GMT
I've been downloading some of the video trailers up at the PlayStation Store. There are upcoming Sony movies, like Casino Royale, along with Sony Blu-ray movies. Sure, they look great. But honestly, if you have a good TV, DVD looks pretty nice, too. Those who know tell me Blu-ray can handle 50 inch plus screens better than DVD and looks sharper in the corners. When I visited Sony's Ginza showroom in Tokyo earlier this year, they had regular DVD and Blu-ray running on the same television so folks could compare. And yeah, there was a difference. But without them side-by-side, it's difficult for me to see. Anyone else? Brian Ashcraft
