"Sweet potatoes are just loaded, loaded, loaded with beta carotene and phytochemicals...they are one of the most nutritious vegetables you can eat," says Colleen Doyle, of the American Cancer Society, in a related article. Try to remember these foods as you plan your meals throughout the year. Throw some broccoli into the mix as well - don't forget the brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale or turnips either! There is also evidence that grapes and citris fruits help the body to dispose of potential carcinogens.
