Taiko Drum Master set is $20 at BestBuy.com; buy it now!

28th Sep 2005, 04:35 GMT

Last night, we received word from the ever resourceful CAG forums (registration required) that the Taiko Drum Master bundle with drum peripheral was on sale for $19.99 at BestBuy.com. If you’ve never played Taiko Drum Master , it’s one of the best rhythm/music party games you can find for the PS2. Think of it as a cross between DDR and Donkey Konga ... all right, Namco made Donkey Konga for Nintendo, too, but Taiko’s played with two sticks, just like the real Japanese instruments! [UPDATE: online stock sold out. Thanks, Peak. Try in-store?] Hey, and if you can find the drums actually in-stock at a local BB (good luck), you can save on shipping AND possibly get the set for half off… that’s right: ten whole bucks! Barring that, just grab one of those discount coupons from McDonald’s (also CAG) and pick up the set for fifteen if it’s still twenty in stores. But make sure to grab two—your gaming buddies will be very sad if they can’t play with a drum of their own. (Clearance-priced alternatives are pretty rare in EB/GameStops nowadays, so $20 is a great deal for the game and drum.) Speaking from personal experience, I picked up two such bundles from EBgames.com when they offered it for the same price a little while back, and I’ve seen more non-gamers give the game a try and love it than even DDR (and the game reviewed well even when the bundle was $60). Please consider it. And, trust me, there’s nothing like banging away on those dedicated drums when playing with a friend. It’s just a really loud game. Naturally.
