Sharemywifi.com - Wi-Fi for cookies
5th Feb 2006, 22:16 GMT
Networking Pipeline and CNet have recently taken a look at Sharemywifi.com, a website developed to allow wi-fi users to share their connection for free or for a fee. A quick browse of the site revealed that they currently only have 494 active listings of those willing to share and 22 listings by people seeking a connection. They are quick to mention in their FAQ that some internet providers explicitly prohibit buying internet from them and sharing it, and to be sure to check your ISP's Terms of Service. The overview describes that sharing someones wi-fi connection is as easy as baking cookies.
