(AP) - Tony De Renzo, center, manager of the San Francisco Patients Cooperative, smokes a marijuana cigarette and watches as Cathy and Steve Smith of HopeNet, distribute marijuana edibles during a compassionate giveaway to some of their patients outside City Hall in San Francisco, Wednesday Jan. 11, 2006. San Francisco city officials honored the couple on Wednesday just weeks after agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency raided the Smith's home. HopeNet, a 1,000-member collective, provides free medical cannabis to over 100 seriously ill low-income patients on an ongoing basis. As the DEA raid fell on the eve of the holiday season, limiting supply for patients in need, those members received a 'compassion package' of medical marijuana at Wednesday's event.
