(Tennessean) When the new Congress takes office in January, Tennessee probably will have less of the clout that translates into federal funding and greater attention to the state's problems. ....The upside: Bart Gordon, Mr. Science. Rep. Gordon, D-Murfreesboro, will be the new chairman of the House Science Committee, the only committee chairman among the Tennessee delegation. He has always been a strong advocate of science research funding, which is good news for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and state colleges and universities. ...11/13
