For over two years, the Arab League has stood idly by as Iraq, one of its founding members, has become increasingly ravaged by the horrors of terrorist violence and sectarian strife. This week the pan-Arab organization has finally sent a delegation to the country to try to promote reconciliation and national dialogue among the various communities.
