15th Nov 2006, 10:18 GMT
-Georgia guard Channing Toney will transfer to another school after being suspended from the Bulldogs' opener for academic reasons. Coach Dennis Felton announced Toney's transfer before the Bulldogs game on Tuesday night against Western Kentucky. Toney, son of former NBA player Andrew Toney, is a junior who started 51 of 56 career games for the Bulldogs. Last season, he ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 8.5 points. "We appreciate Channing's many contributions during the past two years of our rebuilding of the basketball program," Felton said in a statement. "We regret to see him go, but we also wish him the very best. It is our hope that Channing finds a good place to continue and complete his college career."
