Ventura fire 60 per cent under control; 3,700 acres gutted

Around 1,300 firefighters in Ventura got unexpected help from cool ocean winds in curbing the fire that has so far smoked 3,700 acres of land in the area. The fire, which began in School Canyon on Friday, led to some evacuations and burnt power poles on California 33 as also 150 oil wells belonging to Aera Energy.
