Audience Education - Part of Cleveland Orchestra's Mission - is Demonstrated on Tour

Last night at London's Royal Albert Hall the Cleveland Orchestra and Chorus performed Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, a solemn mass that Music Director Franz Welser-Most has called "one of the biggest philosophical statements in music history." The 80-minute work ends with the chorus singing "Dona Nobis Pacem" - "Grant us Peace." WKSU's Vivian Goodman reports that at a time when there's concern about America's image abroad, the orchestra has served as a goodwill ambassador not only for America but also for classical music itself.
