(AP) - An HIV positive patient makes her way to her room in the medical clinic of the Sparrow Rainbow Village in Johannesburg, South Africa, Monday Nov. 28, 2005. Nearly 70 percent of all new HIV infection occur in sub-Sahara Africa. AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized in 1981, making it one of the most destructive epidemics in history. An estimated 3.1 million people died from AIDS-related illnesses last year, and another 4.9 million people became infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, according to a UN report released this month.
