Woman finds peace in cancer diagnosis
13th Jan 2006, 17:23 GMT
Filed under: Lung Cancer Last June Carole Stallings was diagnosed with cancer, and on even scarier note, her doctor gave her just one year to live. For many people that news would have been utterly devastating, but for Ms. Stalling's the news is but another step in her life. Originally working in sales, Stalling's received what she describes as a calling in 1994 to serve a higher power. She left her salaried position and began to search for a religion that would accept a female leader. Ordained by Baptist ministers, Stallings now follows her own form of religion in the Brooklyn area. Stallings is unable to work much due to the small-cell carcinoma. She now has tumors in her lungs and on her liver. But despite all her setbacks, she is still able to make ends meet and continue on her path of helping others.
