BHP Billiton, allies buy Gulf of Mexico oil field Genghis Khan

Australia's mining company BHP Billiton Ltd. is acquiring a share in the Genghis Khan oil and gas field in the Gulf of Mexico, paying $594 million, the company announced Monday. This is part of the mining conglomerate's efforts to expand its U.S. operations.
