Trimble Sentencing Phase Gets Underway

A Portage County jury today (Wednesday) heard a mother plead to spare the life of her son. Elizabeth Trimble Bresley took the stand as the defense's first wirness in the sentencing phase of the murder trial of James E. Trimble. He was convicted of shooting his girlfriend, her son, and a Kent State student he had taken hostage. Bresley recalled her son's childhood, and told the jury he could make good use of his carpentry skills in prison.
