More Reliable Prostate Cancer Screening Test Sought

Thanks largely to the PSA, doctors diagnose more than 230,000 cases of prostate cancer a year. However, about three times that number may have unnecessary biopsies. Half of men who are "cured" of prostate cancer probably don't even need treatment. Many prostate cancers grow so slowly that they are almost harmless, but doctors today can't always tell the deadly tumors from harmless ones.
