Second-quarter meltdown dooms Roosevelt in Ames
6th Sep 2005, 10:12 GMT
It was easy for Fabian Brown to get in touch with his emotions Friday. "Im upset, and stunned," Brown said. "Im very frustrated." The Roosevelt High School junior spoke in soft tones and with a shaking head following the Roughriders 41-19 loss at Ames. Roosevelt lost, 21-15, to Ames in last years season opener. Fridays gap widened mainly because of a seven-minute stretch in the second quarter. Ames darted to a 14-0 lead on two touchdown passes from Iowa State recruit Austen Arnaud. The Roughriders responded with a 12-play, 65-yard touchdown drive that culminated with Nick Sharps four-yard pass to Tim Alberts on the first play of the second quarter.
