Moving from the realm of angst to the arena of change

The sense of foreboding that defines much of the Middle East these days is not so surprising, in view of the active wars, simmering conflicts and underlying tensions that plague the region. Yet beneath the surface of violence and political incoherence, there is also a spirit of engaged concern that has been asserting itself in a variety of quiet ways in recent years, among individuals.
