This ambivalent decision from the EU contrasts oddly with the deliberations of Britain's own broadcasting regulator, Ofcom, on the subject of junk food advertising aimed at children. In the midst of this confusion, the notion that parents should accept responsibility for teaching children to resist harmful temptations seems to have been lost altogether.
