Teachers need time, money for extra help
7th Jan 2006, 15:41 GMT
I want to commend Gov. Christine Gregoire for including increased funding for education in her supplemental budget proposal. She has proposed funding for extra help for 10th graders who need to pass the WASL to graduate. As a teacher, I see every day the need to devote more time to providing extra help for students who are having difficulty keeping up. Given our frenzied schedules and work overload, however, no time is left for that extra help.
