Lebanon united in rejecting Syrian calls for dissent

Syria has failed to mobilize the Lebanese people against the Cabinet of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, which enjoys the parliamentary majority's support. Damascus had called on the Lebanese people to hold a massive demonstration Thursday to protest against an increase in the price of diesel and denounce the policies adopted by Siniora.
