Montgomerie ousted, Goosen wins impressively
16th Sep 2005, 03:07 GMT
Mark Hensby of Australia eliminated former winner Colin Montgomerie from the World Match Play Championship Thursday after facing a three-hole halfway deficit. Hensby took advantage of some poor play by the Scot at the start of the second 18 to pull back to all square after 23 holes of their 36-hole first round contest. The Australian then went ahead on the short 28th with a five-foot birdie putt and Montgomerie could not level. Birdies at the 34th and 35th clinched it for Hensby.
